Fuckobook is an adult online site for searching a casual sexual relationship, one night stands, and friends with benefits.
The platform first appeared on the market in 2009, and soon, in 2014 it won an award as a Dating Site of the Year. That information got me quite curious, is it that cool and provides you with easy hookups with minimum effort, or it’s all is a good marketing strategy.
Let’s start with how much it costs. There are both available, free and paid services. Basic features are included in the free version of the website. There is also paid membership that only has two subscription plans, either for one month or for three months.
Even though just like the rest of you, I would like to have all the important features for free, it is not the case with Fuckbook. As a new member, you can create the account, fill in your profile information, such as upload photos and videos, together with your status. Then you will have an option to search for members and see who viewed your profile.
Once you are a registered member you can choose to upgrade your membership to the paid ones. There are two Premium subscription plans. One for 1 month will cost you $29.95 or $44.85 for 3 months. Both of those have the same features. After the payment goes through, you’ll get unlimited messaging and gifs exchange with other users, you would be able to send and receive messages. You, also, get an option to comment on the posts of other users and even start your own blog, where you could express anything you want. Besides, the Premium subscription will set you free from the annoying, most of the time, advertisements and will give you the Premium Badge and Karma boost.
The platform doesn’t shout full with active users. It is quiet and within 10 users that I’ve connected with, only 2 seemed semi-legit, if I’m being frankly honest. And that legitness seems to be such only because they seem to be regulars at the website. Rather than that, there is not much.
Members are requested to be at least 18 years old to get an account, yet there is no way anyone would check it, and I sense even if your email would be something like [email protected] Anyway, speaking of the other users. The majority of users at Fuckbook.com are in their 20s’ and 30s’ and the main part of it is males that are strictly looking for casual sexual intercourse. Nothing much mostly.
Fakes and scammers
The registration policy is not that strict so I would say the chance of scammers or bots to get an account is quite simple. Yet to be able to actually interact with other users, you should be having a premium membership, which is not that cheap if you look at it. In any case, you can block suspicious users if something feels odd.
I was very surprised that a website with this kind of design won anything at all. That’s me bitching though. Back to the topic, the website’s main page that was supposed to approach to register right away, didn’t approach me at first. There is one pinky color banner on top of which, you can tell, photoshopped female in a sexy, kinda playful, pose.
Doing my research, I’ve read things that there are too many hidden links around it that reforwarding you to unknown and suspicion pages without your permission. I cannot confirm so. The page looks clean and leads only to the registration form on the right side of the page.
Creating an account is as easy as with other similar dating apps. To become an active user all you need is to fill in basic information about yourself. It won’t require much, only your gender, sexual preference, age, and your username. Also, you would need to type your email address and create a password. Between this and editing your personal profile, you would need to agree to all the Terms and Conditions. As well as agree to their Icebreaker program. This means that you will allow Fuckbook to make the first contact from your side on their behalf.
Despite the fact that there is the option to fill in the information about yourself, the profiles barely have any details at all. Other users do not add any information that is quite boring.
Your account pic is visible to anyone, regarding free or paid membership. The content that you can find while visiting the profile of the person you seem to like, is all around sex. The sexual experiences, preferences, and fetishes together with photos and videos. The platform also offers to add more information about you, like ethnicity, body type, and your social background. Your political views, religion, arts, books, occupation, education, and much more also offered to fill in but mostly skipped by other users.
The searching process is simple. You need to choose your filters that will specify what you are looking for and hit search. The system is supposed to connect you with the possible matches that meet your criteria, you can search according to the location, gender, photos, and even through free HD movies. But then how that will be possible if most of the profiles are empty and have minimum information.
The other way is Fuckbook’s special feature called Icebreaker. This function will be offered to you during your registration. It is supposed to bring you closer to other users right away and match you with the best possible matches. Yet you should be very aware that once you agree to participate, the Fuckbook system will send messages to other users on your behalf. Meaning, you will give your full permission to use your photo and personal information. I would think twice before agreeing to that.
Chatting between users possible only in case you have paid membership. Otherwise, it simply won’t happen. Once you have that option in your capacity, you can either send a simple message or there are also virtual gifts will be available for you to use. What I’ve also detected is that there are a lot of messages from bots. Will get you all excited and then leave with nothing but frustration.
Fuckbook does not have any mobile app to download from any of the active stores, which is odd because millennials are the majority of users. Despite the absence of the app, the website has an accessible mobile version of the site fully functioning through any browser.
Security and privacy
Security policy is simple and does not protect you from anything in particular. Since the registration has no strict rules, it is easy to create a fake account and use it to scam people. there are no guarantees. I would suggest taking your time and not share your personal information with strangers. If you want to add full information about yourself in your profile – use more common phases and places without anything specific that would might help scammers to trick you.
While I was testing the website, I already had a chance to talk to two other users, that actually seemed to be regulars at the platform and also seemed real people. Yet none of them wanted to meet in real life. So the actual chance of hooking up with someone is very low.
The system does connect you with possible matches based on your preferences. There seem to be that matching algorithm Icebreaker but it doesn’t connect you with possible matches as we used to in other dating apps. Instead, it will send messages to other users on your behalf. And those matches are not that great.
Since the review ended in not the best light I was hoping for, I thought of a couple great alternative websites that are going to be quite helpful.
