Casual dating can be a risky affair if you are just stepping on the unfamiliar territory. Even an experienced dater like me sometimes gets confused. After all, we publish our most personal pictures and information, and pay for subscriptions — and it would be nice not to have to worry about safety.

XXXPersonals review

Recently, I got over my 30-day undercover dating on XXXPersonals. I knew that the website has a shady reputation — each xxxpersonals review have the word “scam” written all over, but I had to make my own opinion. After three weeks of careful exploration, I am ready for the final xxxpersonals review. As usual, it’s based on five key criteria.

  • Affordability: the review of the functionality of a free version, free trial reviews, and the cos of paid features;
  • Audience quality: evaluation of xxxpersonals user pool and validation systems;
  • Interface: I take a look at the website’s design and usability;
  • Security and privacy: here, we’ll explore risks and threats, and take a look at data processing algorithms;
  • Hookup chance: a summary where I evaluate my dating results.

Let’s see if the service deserves its bad publicity and discuss how to spot shady dating platforms.

XXXpersonals offers a free version and provides a premium subscription. Still, keep in mind that you need to specify your credit card data to make an account. As the trial period ends, you have to either cancel the subscription or the system will automatically withdraw a payment.

Free services

XXXPersonals gives access to its full free version for a one-week trial period. You can match up and chat, use unlimited filters, upload pictures, and videos, and use cam chats.

Paid services

The xxxpersonals paid version gives you access to the same features, only on a permanent basis. In reality, it’s impossible to use the website long-term without paying for a VIP membership. The full access costs $49.95/m.

Audience quality

This is the weakest spot for the platform. Before I even registered, I saw several complaints about fake female accounts. Let’s see if these negative reviews were grounded.

Age distribution

The website targets the 25-35-year-old audience. It’s not the best place to find a mature casual dating partner. I had a feeling that some users picked the platform as the first Craiglist alternative, without giving much thought to their dating approach.

As on many casual dating websites, the platform attracts younger women and older men, although it’s not a noticeable difference — usually, 5-10 years.

Gender distribution

XXXPersonals is much more popular among men than women — the ratio is around 75% versus 25%. Men will have a tough time finding a date, while girls, on the other hand, might get concerned about the quality of the user pool.

Indeed, there is a reason why the website is not so popular among women. The platform encourages explicit nakedness and does a sloppy censoring job. Men send strange requests and exchange dick pictures — really, it’s not the best dating environment.

Fakes and scammers

To keep attracting male users to the platform, XXXPersonals took a shady road of registering fake accounts. They are all over the website. I did my traditional Google Image search to verify the authenticity of published pictures, and the results were disappointing.

The Online Envoy program

When I just registered on the website, I immediately got 4 new messages — and that’s with an empty profile. Suspecting bot messages, I went straight to the website’s rules — to clear things up.

It turned out, XXXPersonals publically admit to generating fake profiles with computer-generated descriptions and stock pictures.

In the 14th section of their Terms and Conditions, the XXXPersonals customer service publically admits to employing bots for messaging

The main page was one of a very few good aspects. The website doesn’t bombard its users with dozens of naked pictures from the get-go. It is organized and informative.

However, I got a heads-up to all traveling daters: the website might not be available in your location. During my vacation abroad, I wanted to check the local dating pool — and instead got transferred to the “Forbidden Access” page. So, if you are outside of the United States, don’t be surprised to see the same alert.

The worst thing is, the service doesn’t offer a solution. I used a VPN to get through the limitation. It wasn’t easy — the page kept re-directing me to captcha — I must’ve passed it at least severa dozens of times.

Signing up

The website requires only basic personal information — gender, sexual preference’s age, location. You are asked to upload at least one picture — but the majority of users share 2-3.

To validate the account, make sure that the website recognizes your email as a trustworthy one. Don’t try signing up with Gmail — better go for Yahoo instead.

The website works like Craiglist personals. The user profile matters less than the text of the ad, which is why the registration is so basic.

The top section of the profile matters the most — here, you need to add pictures and status. Users aren’t too creative in their moto selection — these are mostly innuendos.

In Account Options, you can change your privacy settings, specifying the access to photo and video materials. Also, you can preview the account in the guest mode — the way other users see it — and edit login information.

XXXPersonals allows users to send photos and videos requests. If you see a potential match who lacks material, you can ask for more content — both in direct messages and on the public profile.

The service matches users via the feed — here, you will automatically see sorted profiles who live nearby. The website guesses what accounts might interest you the most and pushes them to the top. On its own, it’s a great idea, if not for occasional promotional listings — dividing real matches and paid ads is exhausting.

Additionally, adultery personals search results include filters — age, occupation, body type, height, religion, and education.

The feed looks nice and clean, but you’ll see occasional ads. These banners are hardly invasive, but it’s not something I’d expect after paying for a premium version.

The messenger is outdated. No high-quality voice memos or real-time streaming — the communication algorithms came out straight from the 2000s.

I like the message sorting system — it’s nice to separate active dialogues from matching requests; still, the overall functionality is too basic.

If you are outside of the United States, don’t be surprised to see the “Forbidden Access” alert

Privacy and security

At this point, I wasn’t surprised to see that XXXPersonals remains rather shady about their data policies. Even though their regulations promise information protection by “modern standards,” they don’t give any exact guarantees. I would feel much safer if the website had additional security layers and unique practices — like Pure’s disappearing chat, for instance.

Profiles don’t look too reliable either. About half of my feed was inactive, although male accounts didn’t seem fake. Still, potential matches offer second to none information, and the website’s scammy reputation doesn’t add to its trustworthiness.

On top of that, I have questions for the moderation team. I got too many unsolicited naked pictures even to count, and the website’s support did nothing to disable these profiles. Luckily, my security risks didn’t go beyond horny dialogues, but I didn’t feel protected.

Hookup chance

Even though XXXPersonals wasn’t a disappointment in all aspects, it doesn’t change the fact that the website uses fraudulent promotion methods. At least they are open about these practices. Still, it’s hard for me to see a scenario in which I prefer to transparent Pure, huge AdultXXXDate or any website like Backpage.

Matching algorithms

XXXPersonal pairs users up by their location, age, and sexual preferences. The service doesn’t offer compatibility charts or personalized digests — users have to do all the digging.

The service offers no innovation, and the quality of the user pool is way below average.

In 30 days, I managed to find a guy for online “talking,” but I would never risk my safety and go on a live date. It’s best not to get in trouble with — you won’t know where to turn if the worse comes to worst alternatives

Instead of registering on a shady service, you can compare XXXPersonals to secure alternatives.

XXXPersonals is a waste of time and money

The platfform turned out to be a fraudulent service with a fake user base. The experience isn’t even remotely fun — developers didn’t bother to build in creative matching features.

I wouldn’t register on XXXPersonals again even for free — and I certainly wouldn’t want to pay for a subscription. It won’t take you long to find an XXXPersonals alternative with real profiles and throughout matching algorithms.
